Im trying to set up a separate change management workflow outside of my original standard workflow

Monica Yost September 6, 2021

I have already created one workflow which is valid for all my issue types.

What I need to do is create a new workflow which has separate fields for my change management process and I am struggling to understand how I can separate the workflows out and have two schemes against one project ?

Hi @Monica Yost

You can have only one workflow scheme per project. This workflow scheme may contain more than one workflows, which can be associated to one or multiple issue types. These issue types can have separate issue operation screen, which dictate the fields that are going to be present to each issue type.

If your main concern is just to have separate fields on create/view/edit screens of certain issue types, but you want all of the issue types to have the same workflow (e.g. todo, in progress, done), then you don't have to create a new workflow.

You need to:

  • Create new screens for the create/view/edit operation for an issue type (e.g. you want the issue type of "Task" to have separate fields from all the rest)
  • Modify the above screen so as to have all the fields you wants
  • Create a new screen scheme, which will include the above screen you've created
  • Associate this issue screen scheme, with the issue type screen scheme
  • Repeat the process if you want additional issue types to have different fields

Let me know if that helps :)
