Is it possible to cascade queries with custom fields in JSM?

Administrador Jira ITSTK July 16, 2021

I want to use the COMPONENT field, and depending on what I choose, I filter in the following COMPONENT DETAIL field, for example, I choose NETWORK in Component field and I want it to be displayed in the COMPONENT DETAIL field: ROUTER, SWITCH, etc and choose between them.

@Administrador Jira ITSTK -

It is not clear on what you are asking.  The Component field (out of the box system field) is not a cascade select field.  Is "Component Detail" field as you mentioned a custom field that you created?

Are you trying to ask that how to setup a control of option choices display for the "COMPONENT Detail" field based on what value is selected on the "COMPONENT" field?

If this is what you are asking, then you will need to utilize third party add-on for your env.  Example - ScriptRunner for Jira - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/6820/scriptrunner-for-jira?hosting=cloud&tab=overview.  This add-on has a "Behavior" element which can provide the solution.

If not, please provide additional clarification and details, so I can further assist for your ask.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much Joseph, sorry, I think that I was not very clear in my explanation. But , I think that you have understood well. In other words, I want to use "Cascading Select List" using at least 2 fields. So, I understan that Jira itself is not posible to do "Cascading Select List", so, I will ty to test your suggest.

Thanks a lot
