I am running Discovery on our Assets. IDiscovery comes up with a variety of "Status".
I am wondering how/where is gets that info from i.e. pattern files, but more importantly is there a meaning for status? For example, "rejected or not found. I understand that invalid credentials play a part here.
See attached pic.
Hi @Steve Gosine , thanks for your question. I checked the documentation for Assets Discovery and I don't find any reference to a status like this https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/assets-discovery-overview-1142426234.html .
I'm going to ask Atlassian to check this for you by asking support to look at this question.
Cheers

I understand you are looking for more information about the status values within Assets Discovery. We have a page over in Structure of imported data that documents what each status will mean for the various different types of objects. For example "Host" objects can have values of
- Found and discovered host is set up "Running"
- Rejected host (due to invalid credentials) is set to "Rejected"
- Existing host that is not found is set to "Not Found"
But for a different object such as "Application Service" status can have values of:
- Running
- Stopped
- Paused
- Continue_Pending
- Pause_Pending
- Start_Pending
- Stop_Pending
I hope this helps.
Andy

Andy,
Thanks for your answer, Status have way more that 3 states, was curious if all was defined.
I accept you answer and will keep poking around.

Hi @Andy Heinzer,
I'm encountering a lot of duplicate objects imported from our Asset Discovery scan with the REJECTED status. Meanwhile, the original object record has been successfully updated by successive scans, such as in this screen shot:
If this status is '(due to invalid credentials) is set to "Rejected"', does this mean the host rejected the credentials the Discovery tool used when trying to scan it? We haven't updated the account credentials recently, and though it hiccupped on 4/10, it has successfully scanned the device with the same creds again since then.
I haven't found much info about REJECTED status beyond the article you linked. I can open a support case if needed.

Hi @Chris Troyer , I think it'd be best if we can have you open a support case just so the support team can take a deeper look with you directly.
Best,
Greg.
