Not showing portal request descriptions / instructions

Hello all!

We've set some text for request descriptions and instructions but none of them are showing in the portal:

  • Description/instructions set (both the same, checking if one of them appears and where)

CAF_request_nodescriptin1.png

  • Request without description / instructions text:

CAF_request_nodescriptin2.pngIs there anything needed for them to show up besides entering the text there?

Thanks in advance!

Alvaro.

Hello Alvaro,

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

Testing on my local site, I changed both descriptions and it was updated in the portal.

Screen Shot 2020-10-16 at 16.45.10.png

Is it happening on all request types?

Have you tried to remove and add the descriptions again?

Can you open the developer tools on your browser and check if it shows any error on the console tab?

Regards,
Angélica

Hi Angelica! Thanks for replying!

Yes, I did change both description and instructions for all four request types on the portal and none of them appears anywhere.

As for the errors I did check on both Chrome and firefox and yes, there're some errors:

  • Chrome:

Thank you for the details, Alvaro.

Checking some similar cases, I found out that this issue is related to translations, where some translation is not confirmed and it will affect the main changes to not be saved.

Please, go to Project settings > Language support and check on every option that has a yellow dot and confirm the translation.

After that, the description and instructions should show correctly in the portal.

Hi Angelica,

Thanks a ton for that tip, I actually had the translation for Spanish updated but not for English (UK), being English (US) the main language of the site.

None of the 3 languages descriptions/instructions worked however.

After updating English (UK) none of them worked as well.

I then hid the rest of the Languages from customers, and the descriptions/instructions for the other 3 started appearing!

CAF_request_nodescriptin3.png

Also I tried showing a language back and see if the description/instructions stopped appearing again but they still show there.

So everything works now , thanks a ton again Angelica!

Kind regards,

Alvaro.
