Great day!
I'm trying to add a text field (read only) for when printing to have a field for the user to sign as well as the technician. But I'm not able to make it appear at the time of printing. When I enter in the order, these new fields that I created appear, but they don't appear when I go to print. I went to Project settings -> Fields -> Edit Fields and put it to appear on all screens as shown in the print, but I can't make it appear when printing. Can someone help me please?
Thank you very much for your attention.
Hello Felipe,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!
When printing an issue, the fields that appear are the system ones and the custom fields that have some value.
With this said, if those three fields are empty, they won’t show up on the print mode.
The Text Field (read-only) is not editable on the screen and it’s not possible to add a default value. To add some value to this type of field it will be necessary to use a post function on the workflow or use an automation rule.
Post function:
Go to Project settings > Workflows > Click to edit the desired workflow > Diagram > Select the desired transition. On the example below, I’m adding the post function on the “Create issue” transition, so the field will be populated when the issue is created:
Click on Post Functions > Add post function > Update issue custom field > Add > Select the field >Type the value for the field > Add and then, “Publish draft” to save the changes on the workflow.
Result:
Automation:
Go to Project settings > Automation > Automation > Create rule. Select the option for the Trigger and the action will be “Edit issue”.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards,
Angélica
