Hi all, I am a rookie, but I have searched for this to no avail.
I have a (test) team-managed "software" project. I have restrictions set up so I can make any task private to me, without restriction, or restricted to certain roles. Works well.
In "Issues", I can select a task, it opens full screen and if I click the padlock icon, I can edit the restriction level:
In "list" view (where I can see all issues and they handily nest and collapse hierarchically under their parent), or the "board" view, when I click a task, it opens in a modal. If I click the padlock there, I cannot edit the restriction level. It only gives me a "restricted" tooltip and no list.
How can I make this function editable from these views? The "issues" view is pretty useless as it is just a long list of all sorts of task types mixed together.
I have already tried to open project settings > issues types > tasks to try and see if I can add "security..." field, but it does not exist.
Thanks!
Hi Patrick:
I would recommend that you to contact Atlassian Support to see if there is an existing enhancement request that you are asking for Team Managed Jira Software projects - (https;//support.atlassian.com).
It is my understanding that issue security scheme control for Team managed project are still being enhanced and develop as compare to company-managed projects where it is fully developed.
Please advise, so we can assist you further.

@Joseph Chung YinI'm not using any add-ons. This is a team-managed "software" project. The restrictions function is available as shown. Just not editable in the modal. I also have team-managed "business" projects and restrictions are not available in those.
In case I have an add-on that I'm not aware of, how would I be able to tell?
Thanks,
Patrick

I am truly sorry when I provided my feedbacks initially. Right after I posted, I revised my original posting the the security functionality as it is an out of the box.
Please refer my updated and revised feedbacks above. I believe the best route will be to contact Atlassian Support at this point for their assistance.
Best, Joseph

Hi Patrick:
You have standard subscription, then you should be able to access (https://support.atlassian.com) to submit your ask. Are you the site/Jira admins for your env? Or, you are only a project administrators for the project that you managed?
If not, work with your site/Jira admins to submit the ask.
Best, Joseph
