Why does the task/bug with no Epic don't reflect on timeline?

Hi @Max ,

There are some limitations when it comes to project/board timelines. As per article Project timeline limits in Jira 

Child issues without a parent won’t be shown on your timeline.

Here's a feature suggestion on this: JSWCLOUD-25744 Display standard issues without any parent on the timeline. 

The other solution would be to use Jira Plans, but that feature only comes with Premium and Enterprise plans.

Hi @Max 

No, that is not possible in a basic timeline in a project.

Only issues under an epic are displayed there.

So, to make your task/bugs appear, either add them to the epic that they belong to or consider adding a separate epic for all your task/bugs.

I ran into the same issue, so I solved it by creating a plugin that visualizes Epic progress and how the team’s focus is distributed. 

It also includes a separate row for tasks that aren’t part of any Epic but still take up time — so nothing gets lost in the process. If that’s something that could help, feel free to check it out:
