Transfer Tickets from one Project to another Project without having access to both Projects

Mustafa Memon March 10, 2020

Is it possible to transfer/move a ticket from one Project to another without having access to both Projects?

Currently I don't seem to be able to do this when using the 'Move' option when selecting the 3 dots top-right of the ticket, while only having access to just one of the projects.

Follow-up question is that if you need to be added on both Projects does this eat up 2 licenses?

Hi Mustafa,

You'll need create permissions on the project that you're transferring to. Check the permission scheme on the target project.

And no, you shouldn't consume licenses on both projects, as it's based on a named user.

I say should, as I'm running on the assumption you have a Jira Service Desk license in both the source and target projects. Transferring from Service Desk to Service Desk project should not pose an issue. If you're transferring to Software, you might need a Software license if you don't already have one.
