Trying to get an issue and all other issues that are linked to it in a search

I need a query that brings back a current QueryID as well as any items that have this item in the relates to link or is loaded as a relates to in the item.

@Nick Brown - can you elaborate on "QueryID"? Have an example where this is being done, or can you describe what a successful query might look like?

A successful query would return me the main issue and any issues that are loaded as related to in the main issue or where the main issue is loaded as a related issue in them.

I hope this makes sense.

issue in linkedIssues("CATS-21")

where CATS-21 is the issue you're interested in?
