Update Insight Object Attribute from Issue field

Andreas Hubert October 15, 2021

Hi All!

I need some help. I want in an issue to get an Insight Object Attribute updated.

So for example I have a Custom Field in my Issue where a user can pick the Jira Object and there sees the current value of that attribute. Now in a second field the user would enter a new value that then should be changed to for the Insight Object Attribute.

I saw some other posts, that this should work somehow with post-actions or groovy script, but I was struggling a bit to implement it that way, maybe someone can give me some hints.

Thanks

Andreas

Hi @Marco Brundel ,

if I use a post trigger from "Insight Post-Function" with "Set the value of an object attribute with a predefined value", there I selected "Source Custom Field" the one that contains my Insight Object. At "Insight Object Type Attribute name" I tried with the attribute name of the Object. For "Change value" I used "${issue.customfield_10765}". I hope the syntax is correct?

Just to verify that it's working, I also added a postaction to send me an email with some variables. But it seems this email does not get triggered. Is there maybe also something I need to enable to get this working? I already tried with a trigger on an insight object itself to send me an email, that worked and also for automations emails could be send, but here at postactions it seems not to send and there seems to be also no log about it.

Edit: email was just not send to the one who triggered the action, I added my private email and now I get the information. This helps me a bit for now on troubleshooting.

Thanks

Andreas
