User unable to search for another user on request/ticket dropdown option.

Hello,

I am getting request where users are unable to search for other users within a dropdown option on a request/ticket.  

As Jira Admin I am able to search and find user on the same request/ticket.  User having issue have product access and permissions within project allow all signed in users to browse.  The user also are assigned to appropriate groups via User Mgmt. 

The workaround is to add user to project, then they are able to search and find user in dropdown option.

Hello @lapacquah.bryant

 

When you say the workaround is to add the user to the project, by chance are these users being treated as 'customers'? If so, you need to select Customers can search for other customers within their project or organizations in the settings of the project, project setting > customer permissions

If not, they will need to be added to the project and part of a project group that has the permissions of Assignable User.
