Users name defaulting back to maiden name

A user got married in 2010 and changed her surname and its been working ever since with her married name.

This week, when anyone tries to assign a ticket to the users name it comes up with 'User firstname.maidenname cannot be assigned issues'

The maiden name isnt in Jira or active directory.

Any ideas?

Hi @Bill Sharp and welcome to the community,

When I read you first line of your question, by God I honestly thought that you were going to say a joke! :)

Two things I can think of:

  • That user doesn't have the assignable user permission (meaning you can't assign issues to that user)
  • That user didn't change the full name on her Atlassian id.

She has had assignable user permission before Wednesday this week. I have assigned her tickets in the past. 

I'll get her to look at he Atlassian ID.

Married name is in the Atlassian ID.
