I am a network administrator in our company and I was designated to implement the IT Inventory.
We have a premium license and we need to benefit of the Insight Assets management (to setup an inventory for our hardware devices & software licenses. We also have a license for Desktop Central and we want to use the DC agent scanner to discovers and import data to this inventory.
We tried to define the Schema, objects and their attributes, but we wonder how to match the data obtained by the DC scanner and import them to Jira, to be converted into objects?
We have read the documentation, but we still have some troubles - is there a way to have support in this implementation process, more then the "how to" documentation found on the Atlassian site?
Thank you
Hey @Marcel Manole ,
Just for my clarification, you are using the Insight Discovery tool to capture the data and now you are struggling with how to import that right?
You mentioned you already got the documentation but I'll post a link just to be safe :)

Basically the insight discovery tool will provide you with some csv files that you can them import (manually or automated).
If you are looking for some hands on guidance on how to match the data and create the imports, you might be better off looking at contacting one of the Partners.
Atlassian themselves don't really provide you with implementation support besides the documentation but they have a vast network of partners who can help you.

If you have a specific case itself you can always post the details on the community too and we can try and help guide you thru it.
Thank you @Dirk Ronsmans for your answer,
We do not want to use the Insight Discovery tool- we already have a Desktop Central agent scanning our computers, no need to add another scanner!
We try now to extract rapports, match the attributes and import them to Insight inventry.
We shell see what we succeed.

Allright, the tool you were using wasn't clear to me so hence my question :)
For Insight Cloud you are currently "stuck" with only csv/json imports which need to be done manually.
If that tool an export to CSV/JSON, you can simply do a CSV/JSON import, map the columns in the csv to an attribute and that should be it :)
Depending on how complex you want links and such to be the mapping could be more challenging

I believe the best way to obtain support on your ask is by submitting a support request to Atlassian Support Team (https://support.atlassian.com) for further assistance.
I am also interested on their responses of your ask (if you can share them with the community). In my env, we have not tried your process to get data into a Insight Schema. By default, we are using CSV import process to create create objects/objects attributes based on external data.

Hope this helps.
