When I change a workflow in workflow scheme, what happens to existing issue statuses?

We have a workflow scheme. In this scheme, we have workflow for issue type Incident. I saved a backup of this worfklow, and I want to use the backup instead of the current workflow. What happens to the original case status when I add the backup workflow to the scheme and change the issue type Incident to use this backup workflow? (provided the stages did not change, only the transitions, but I wonder how it would work when we would change the stages as well)

Hello @capek.frantisek

When you change a workflow, one of the steps when you publish the new workflow will ask how you want to map the old statuses to the new statuses.

Hope this helps!
