Why can Clients see ALL portals, not just their own?

Lia Mack October 7, 2022

We'd like to limit visibility of other client's portals to have clients only be able to see THEIR portal.

In the screenshot here - there are 4 different client's portals in our Jira portal, and I'm logged in AS a client who should only see ONE portal (aka, their own portal)

Is there a way to limit visibility of other portals?

Or no?

Thank you!

@Lia Mack Welcome to the Atlassian community

Each Jira Service Management project has its own portal and project customer permissions.  By default, the project is set up to be seen by anyone who is logged into the service management portal.  All projects feed into the help center.  If a project is configured so anyone can find it your customers will be able to see all of those projects / find them in the help center.   https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/customer-permissions-for-your-service-project-and-jira-site/

You will need to set each project's customer permissions to Customers added to this service project only by agents and admins https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/change-project-customer-permissions/  You will then need to add the specific customers or customer organizations to each specific project you would like those customers to access. https://support.atlassian.com/jira-service-management-cloud/docs/add-and-remove-customers/

@Lia Mack  thanks for the post

This would need to be set as Organizations per Service Management project. I.e. if you go to each SD, you should be able to see the Customer section on the left nav and you can group Customers within Organizations.

Once done, each customer/organization added per SD would only see that SD.

Hope this helps.

Thank you
Yatish

I am not seeing this option - Organizations - within the Service Management Project Settings.

What exactly is "SD"?

@Lia Mack if you go to the Service Desk or now called Service Management project, you should see this on the left nav

Click on Customers and that will list your customers that can view the Service Management portal as in your screen grab. Remember organizations are a grouping of customers.

You can even go to Project settings > Customer permissions > Service project access to be able to customize who can view and add customers/organizations. Be sure to see the global "Site admins can change the customer access settings" setting too

Unfortunately this is still not working

* I created a group for each client

* I've assigned each group to their specific REQUEST type

Still all clients can see all clients
