how to set up a mandatory field to resolve a ticket

We are using Jira Service Management.

When we resolve a ticket, sometimes we forgot to fill in some field like label, risk. So to confirm all the required fields are filled before resolving tickets, we would like to set mandatory fields which should be filled.

Please advise how?

Hi Austin,

Maybe I can help your request. Firstly, I understanding you have already ''Resolve Screen''.

  1. You need to go to the relevant Workflow.
  2. And than click edit workflow.
  3. Click related transition.
  4. After that Click Validator.
  5. Click add validator on the page that opens.
  6. Select Field Required Validator.
  7. Choose fields and click add.
  8. Finally, do not forgot publish the workflow.

Hi Berat! thank you for your warm help! May I ask more details about this case?

I checked field, screen and workflow in the project but it seems no place can be edited. I am administrator of this project and I should have been able to edit them.

Do you have idea with this?

Hi again Austin, You need to be site admin to edit in workflow, screen etc. Just being a project administator may not be enough to solve this problem. You need to contact the authorized site admin.
