user pricing on Jira Service Management vs Jira Software

Dear All,

need help , i as Admin on Jira service management & Jira Software

is reporter on Jira Service management & Jira Software its totaly different?

because on Jira service management reporter not must have Product Jira Service Management 

but on Jira Software why reporter must have Product ?

whether me give a product to user because to access Board ?

Hi @Blair 

Yes, you are correct.

Jira Software only has a "back-end" so all users need a license

Jira Service Management has a "front-end" (the customer-facing portal) where users don't need a license.

The "back-end" of Jira Service Management is for agents who handle the customer's requests. They do need a license.

In both case, an issue has a Reporter

  • Jira Software Users need a product license
  • Jira Service Management Agents need a product license
  • Jira Service Management Customers don't need a product license
