Wondering if we are not thinking of Services and Request types correctly
In my mind, each Request Type should relate to at least one service i.e. the 'things' that you offer under that service
But I cant see how you Associate Request Types to Services (under Assets)
Thanks Alex, yes have read that
I am thinking more of (and these are not the best exampels)
Example One:
Service - Desktop Hardware
A Service Request might be: Request a new laptop
Example Two:
Service - Network (which is linked to a number of Assets (CMDB/CIs) of the different networks inc. Wifi
A service Requests might be: Request a new Wifi Key
In JSM Is there any linkages between:
Services
Request Type /Form
In other ITSM tooling I have used in the past, all service request, were linked to the Service to which they belong. Just not sure if I am seeing Services in JSM the same
Do you have an example you can give me of the
I wouldn't say the statement you say is correct. In ITSM you have requests. These requests are services you provide to your customers (fix internet or a printer, password reset, VPN access, etc). These are the services you offer as IT.
Now, the services that JSM has as functionality are explained below:
In IT service management (ITSM), a service is a system, platform, or infrastructure that provides value to your business or customers
