Role restriction

Kevin Vancrutsen March 27, 2025

Hello,

In Jira Service Mangement, is it possible to prevent the agents of a tenant from creating a new project? In other words, only administrators can create projects.

Thank you in advance for your attention to my request.

Hello @Kevin Vancrutsen

Projects are of 2 types, Company Managed and Team Managed

For Company Managed: Only individuals with Administer Jira Gobal Permission (Jira Admins) have the capability, so agents until and unless given this permission should not be able to do it

For Team Managed: Anyone with create team managed project permission will be able to do it.

How to Check and Update it?

Go to Global Permission from System settings and you can update and restrict it from there.

  1. Navigate to Settings > System

  2. Select Global permissions under Security in the navigation sidebar
