Setting SLA based on due date

Is there anyway to do this yet without an add-on product? We need the SLA timer to start on the due date, not the date the ticket is submitted and I'm still not seeing any way to do this.

Hello  @NoName !
I see that you prefer not to use add-ons, but unfortunately, Jira does not have a built-in option to start an SLA based on the due date.

This specific need can be addressed with add-ons developed for Jira. My team has created one that we also use ourselves because it’s incredibly convenient.

You can try a 30-day trial version to see if it fits your needs and resolves your problem. Hope I can help you resolve your issue! Below, I’ll show you how to set this up using our add-on:

To configure an SLA to start from the due date instead of the ticket creation date, you need to:

  1. Go to the Marketplace and find the SLA Time and Report add-on
  2. Click the “SLA Manager” button in the top right corner.

  3. Click the “+ Configuration” button and choose “Negotiated date”.
  4. The next step is to define the events when the SLA should start. Select one or a few issue fields to let the system know when the calculation should start.

You can set the countdown of the SLA to the due date of a specific project. To make it, choose ‘Resolution date’ and then ‘Field value based’.

  1. Create a condition for Stop. Setting such conditions as in the example below to Start and Stop means that SLA will be triggered as soon as the issue has not been moved to the “Done” status before the due date.

That's all!
For detailed information, you can read our documentation!

I hope you find this helpful!🙌
Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

I'm looking for a way to do this without add-ons. Paying thousands of dollars for something that should be a standard built-in setting, is quite ludicrous honestly.
