Skip an approval step

Amanda Gray November 5, 2024

Hello,

I have an approval step in a workflow that is only used for access requests, when its not access requests I would like the assignee to be able to transition past it.

What is the best way of doing this?

Ive tried an automation rule but it keeps failing so im unsure of what im missing.

Hi @Amanda Gray !

Any reason why you have one workflow for all types of requests?

You could associate one issue type (with approval workflow) to access requests, and a different issue type ( without an approval workflow ) for the other type of requests.

As far as this automation is concerned, I probably need to see the workflow.

Just a few thoughts...

Hi @Amanda Gray

I agreed with Robert here regarding the need to to have one workflow for all types of request.

Regarding your automation failure, would you be able to share the audit log of your automation?

The log should give us a better understanding of the failure to troubleshoot it further.
