Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for a way to sync the profile pictures from Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) to Jira. We use Azure AD for user authentication and would like the profile pictures in Azure AD to reflect automatically in Jira.
Is there a built-in feature or plugin in Jira that supports this?
We’re currently using Jira Cloud and Azure AD for SSO.
Any guidance, tips, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Thanks
Kash
Hi, @Kashif Rahman
Synching profile picture from identity providers like entra Id (formerly Azure AD) is something still not possible for Atlassian tools. However, I believe this is something that will be available soon, since there are many requests under this. There is a ticket raised in the Public Tracker that you can vote for, so they can speed up with this feature.
In case you need to sync any other data, including extension attributes, and if you are open for a marketplace solution, I would recommend you Mindpro Sync. The tool not only synchs attributes and display them into Jira issues, but also shows the hierarchy and assigns approvers automatically based on the hierarchy. You can also establish multiple simultaneous connections, with Azure AD, Okta, Google, etc.
I hope that helps.
Regards,
Eduardo
Hello @Kashif Rahman
From my limited experience, syncing Azure Active Directory (AAD) profile pictures with Jira Cloud is not a built-in feature.
You may need to explore third-party plugins or custom scripts to fetch and apply AAD profile pictures into Jira.
Tools like "User Sync for Azure AD" may also help bridge this gap.
