One of my Colleagues made me aware, that the new (some users are in this Testgroup) Jira Issue Detail Page doesn't have the "create linked Issue" Feature anymore (see Screenshots).
This feature is critical for our Service Desks, to create Jira Software Tickets for our Dev Teams. Since this Feature creates and links a new Issue with the content of the Service Desk Issue.
For comparison this is the current 3 dot Menu in a Service Desk Project.
Additional Info, this is not a next gen Service Desk Project.
Is the "create linked Issue" Feature about to disappear? We really need this, as it is a huge Usability Issue for our Service Desk Team.
Thanks for any Information
Best Wishes
Michael
Hi @[deleted] - you're correct that 'create linked issue' isn't yet supported in the new issue view. And @Cody Stevens is right that the issue view isn't yet complete - we're still in the process of adding missing features.
Here's the feature request in our public-facing backlog, which you can watch for updates: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-71880
In the meantime, users can click through to the old issue view to access 'create linked issue' OR disable the new issue view altogether via User's avatar > Personal Settings > Jira Labs.
Hallo @Caroline Bartle,
Thanks for the Issue Link i voted and watched the linked Issue, since 71880 is a Duplicate.
I know the new Features are not yet complete. The Main Reason i posted this here, was to find out if this Feature would come at some point before the classic view might be removed. Which i hope it doesn't, i like the classic View. :-)
Best wishes
Mike

Hey @[deleted]
The linked issue button has been moved out of that list and onto the main screen. As you will see in my screenshot, its new home is under the title of the issue!

Hey Cody,
thanks for the Response, but i know this Button, and it is not the same Feature.
Service Desk Issues in the "old" or current Interface had "link Issue" and "create linked Issue" as you see in my last Screenshot.
The Link is that same as this moved Feature, but the "create linked Issue" really creates a new Issue with the same content as the Service Desk Ticket. As the Best Practices Guide for Software Teams describes, this Feature is to escalate or dispatch the Ticket into an other Team or a Software Project. see here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/servicedeskcloud/escalate-jira-service-desk-issues-to-other-jira-teams-930022008.html
As far as i have seen this feature is no longer in the new Interface.

Hey Michael,
You are correct, that button is for only linking an already made issue. Unfortunately, the create a linked issue button is not currently available. The JSD team are still adding new features to the next gen projects so it's nowhere near completed.
I recommend making a feedback ticket and letting them know how important this feature is to you. I will also be doing the same because I believe the option should be there.
You can make a feedback request while you are in the project. At the bottom of the sidebar, you will see a section that tells you that you are in a next gen project and under that is a Give Feedback link.

Hallo @Cody Stevens ,
thanks for the Advice i already watched and voted on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-70794 . Does the give Feedback Button do anything further, than create an Issue or what i already did in 70794?
Thanks
Best wishes
Mike

Hey @[deleted]
Since there is already a ticket for this, I don't think there is a reason to submit another. Making a feedback ticket does create a ticket on their side so it would just be a duplicate.
I'm glad I could help though and hopefully this feature will be added soon!
