Is it possible to have the work log/comments look and feel similar to BMC Remedy -

No, the view screen is not configurable to that extent (although I'd question why you want a decent issue tracker to take on the look and behaviour of legacy system)

Thanks Nic - What I was after is having a summarized look on all actions taken on the ticket with footprint/type/timestamp then you can expand based on the necessity of which line item you need to review -

No  you can't in JIRA.  Remedy  is built differently  and JIRA  too!
