Hi,
as part of our quality management system we need to do software validations when our core softwares are updated. However, I was not sure how I can get to know if the JIRA Service Management Cloud software undergoes a version update.
Could you please direct me to where I can find this information in our site for the current cloud version.
Also please can you tell me how the version updates work? I thought this is automatic, or do we have to change a setting if we want to manually determine when updates are applied to our cloud site?
I am asking this as we may in future need to perform software validations each time our software versions are updated so we may need a way to control the timing on our side, or just to know when to do our validation reviews.
BTW We would need to do this also for Confluence and JIRA Software so if you can advise me on those that would be great.
Thanks,
STeph
Hi,
To be able to control updates, you need to be on the Premium or Enterprise plan
The options you have are described in https://support.atlassian.com/organization-administration/docs/manage-product-release-tracks/
Outside of that, you're pretty much on Continuous "Products are on the continuous release track by default. They receive changes and features as soon as they become available."
Thank you @Jonas Ekström !
This is the help article I was needed.
On top of this though is there some way to see what "version" we currently have?
Cheers
Steph

There's no easy way to see it (it changes roughly every six weeks and doesn't tell you anything about compatibility, so it's generally useless to most people and so Atlassian don't make it easy).
The place we've always been able to (reliably) find it is as a result of a rest call - see https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v2/api-group-server-info/#api-rest-api-2-serverinfo-get
