does workflow works for request portals?

in resolve issue screen i added a validator! but it doesnt worked in request portal when i am clicking on resolve this issue. so does workflow validator words on portals? if yes, then how?

Please note that worklfow validators does not work on the customer portal transition and already a suggestion requirement present in the Atlassian backlog. You can check below ticket.

Unfortunately validators are currently ignored when transitioning from the portal. Docs here: Show a workflow transition in the portal

There is an open suggestion you could vote for on this topic: Customer portal transition - validators not applied 

Depending on what you're using the validator for, there may be ways to approximate the functionality using automation, or notification reminders for agents. Happy to share ideas if you can describe the validator you're using in more detail :)
