Hello,

I want to create a new form for my website, but I’ve only found Jira widgets so far. I’m looking to add a complete form to my WordPress site. Is that possible, and how can I do it?

Kind Regards,

Hello @Ilyass Strik
I can suggest trying Smart Jira Forms developed by my team. With Smart Jira Forms, you can create fully customizable forms and embed them directly on your WordPress website. This solution allows external users to submit information that automatically creates Jira issues, populate form items based on Jira field values and map form responses to your Jira fields.

Here’s a Quick Setup Process:

  1. Create the Form: First, design your form in Smart Jira Forms with the fields you need (like name, email, request type, etc.).
  2. Generate a Public Link: Once your form is ready, generate the public URL or the embed code.
  3. Automate Create Jira issue creation: Submissions from the form will automatically create issues in Jira, allowing you to efficiently manage incoming requests.
  4. Embed in WordPress: Follow this guide Embed Smart Forms for Jira on WordPress Website for detailed steps on how to embed the form on your WordPress site.

Embed the Form in WordPress:

  • Navigate to the page or post in your WordPress dashboard where you want to embed the form.
  • Use the Custom HTML block (if you're using the Block Editor) or switch to the text editor (if using the Classic Editor) to insert the HTML code.
  • Use the following iframe code, replacing YOUR_SMART_JIRA_FORM_LINK_HERE with the link you generated: <iframe src="YOUR_SMART_JIRA_FORM_LINK_HERE" style="border:0px #ffffff none;" name="myiFrame" scrolling="no" frameborder="1" marginheight="0px" marginwidth="0px" height="900px" width="700px" allowfullscreen></iframe>519c953c-4999-4fef-a3ea-d18f58576f60.png
  • Adjust the Form's Appearance:

    • Modify the width and height attributes in the iframe to fit your WordPress theme and layout.
  • Bonus: Generate QR Codes:

    • If you'd like to allow people to submit feedback even outside of your website, generate a QR code using the shareable link. This can be used on physical products, posters, or marketing materials, allowing users to submit directly into Jira via a simple scan.

Additionally, Smart Jira Forms offers customize appearence, automation integration, and the ability to view responses report, making it a flexible and powerful solution for your website.

Let me know if you need more guidance on setting this up!

Hello @Ilyass Strik ,

Form has a different meaning in jira/jsm which is used for dynamic values in request types which are built for customer portal.

Could you be more specific on your usecse.

Vijay
