how to use the placeholder of the ticket reporter email

We have set up a customfield of type asset object. The goal is to retrieve the object corresponding to the reporter based on his email address.
I tried to use this syntax:
Mail = ${reporter.emailAdress}
but it doesn't work.
do you have an idea
