We are investigating the possibility of using Jira Service Management in the Data Center version.
We have some questions about thread based communication:#.
By this I mean, is it possible to have a conversation directly in the comment. It's not about replying to a comment with a new comment.
Is this possible in the standard JSM or are there any addons for this?

I don't think there are any add-ons that enable you to have a continuous chat in one chat box. It's possible for agents to thread comments using a Marketplace app (that is, replying to comments but in threads). Are you looking to use this with customers/external people?
