Created a request type and user can enter data. once it comes in for the agent to review. None of the columns are on the right side of the screen to be edited.

If it is custom fields that appear on a Customer Request Form, then they don't show on the right hand side, they show in the middle of the screen (where the description is).
Your agents should be able to edit them by clicking on them in the middle.
