Regarding Asset Automation on events like created and updated

Diwakar Murthy March 21, 2025

Hello.
This is Regarding Asset Automation on events like created and updated.
On Cloud Jira instance we do not have assets "automation" in Schema Configuration.
Is some permission missing? Is there some additional role that is needed for this ?

I do already have the Object schema manager role.

We need this Asset automation to act up on events like object created/updated.

Hi @Diwakar Murthy ,

Automation supports Object trigger that can be configured to trigger on object creation/update/deletion.

However, as stated in the official documentation

This can only be used for global automation rules.

Basically, only Jira admins will be able to create a rule with this trigger if they would navigate to Settings > System > Global automation.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Tobi

Hello @Tomislav Tobijas , thanks. So that's the catch. User has to be admin to do this. On the jira server, this was possible by any schema manager.
