Hello,
We are a medium company that has customers in three countries. We have translate our messages and emails into different languages and we know that customers can choose their own language in their profile using the Portal.
The problem is that they receive the messages and communications in default language until they actualize their own settings. And sometimes they never do that actualization.
My question is, is it possible to edit customer's language for each one from administration desk? Or is it compulsory that the change is done by the customer himself/herself?
Thank you in advance
Hi José,
Thank you for the details.
Currently, only customers can change their profile language, it's not possible, for example, to log in as the customer and go to the profile to change this setting.
I would suggest you edit the customer notification and add the information for them to change the language or add an announcement in the portal. This is just an idea for them to know that it's possible to receive the notification with their native language.
Regards,
Angélica
Hi @Angélica Luz ,
Are there any updates meanwhile to this? I have the same requirement too. Could you please let know which table stores the information related to Customer Language profile?
Thanks & Regards,
Janaki.

Hello @Janakiraman S,
Thank you for reaching out to Community!
On Jira Service Management, only customers can change their own language directly in the portal, it’s not possible to set it for them.
Also, in Jira Cloud, it’s not possible to access the database in order to change such information, but on Server even if it’s possible, this is a configuration that can’t be changed.
There is a feature request suggesting this improvement:
For Server, the same feature was already closed due to “Low Engagement”:
If you are using Cloud, please vote and also watch the feature to receive updates from our product managers.
Kind regards,
Angélica
