I am trying to set up a distribuiton list with a team managed project. The problem is that JIRA requires you to log in to set this up. Unfortunately there is no mailbox behind the distribution list. Is there any other way to set up an email address other than what is presented in JIRA cloud Company Managed Service Management project guidelines?

Hello @Heidi Smith,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

When using a Service Management project, it's possible to add a custom email to receive requests, but not a distribution list or shared mailboxes.

The email used on a service project must be specifically for that and no one should have access to its inbox (only an administrator) to make sure Jira will read the emails and create the tickets correctly.

There is a feature request suggesting improvements for that:

Please, click on Vote for this issue and also watch it to receive updates.

Kind regards,
Angélica

Thanks Angelica, we opted for setting up an email address with inbox and managing the distribution lists and automation for sending messages via JIRA. Seemed like the most elegant solution. Occams Razor for the win!!
