Stop email notifications when issue moves from resolved > Closed

Hello,

I created an automated rule that runs daily at 6p to transition any issue in resolved/canceled to closed automatically.  

I am in a company-managed project, and I have tried the following to disable these: 

  • In Jira> Notification Schemes, deleted Reporter, All Watchers, and Current Assignee from the Issue Closed (System) scheme.  I did the same in Notifications within the project for Issue Closed
  • In Project Settings > Customer Notifications > Customer Visible status changed - excluded person who caused action (thought this would stop notifying agent, but realize it may not work due to action being caused by automated rule)

 

Customers and Agents are still receiving emails when the automation runs at 6pm.  What am I missing?

HI @Jamie.VanWagoner 

I would first off, double check all your automation steps don't have a tick box for send email about this automation rule. This has caught me out a few times.

Secondly, On your workflow, for your transition from Resolved to Closed, look at the Post Functions and ensure you are Firing the "Issue Closed" notification (which links back to your first dot point about removing reporter from the Issue Closed Notification Scheme).
