Hi Mar Angelo,

You would be able to do that directly in Jira like that. Many people use a Marketplace dashboard app do see the rolled up information. Or you can create a higher level issue type in your hierarchy and put you total field in that issue.

Hi @Mar Angelo L_ Tareno

if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, you may want to have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a number of advanced features, including support for configurable sum-ups.

This is how it looks in action:

sum-ups.gif

I'm using story points here, but it works the same for any other issue fields. As you can see, sum-ups update live as you update your issue fields. You can also configure different sum-up styles, like e.g. average, mean, minimum or maximum.

Sum-ups also play well in combination with JXL's other advanced features, such as configurable issue hierarchiesissue grouping by any issue field(s), or conditional formatting.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes

Hi @Mar Angelo L_ Tareno ,

It is not directly possible in Jira. As a solution you can use Jira automation or a marketplace app. You can check the below article for Jira automation:
https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/automation-to-sum-up-story-points-of-stories-in-different-statuses-and-add-the-value-to-the-parent-1108673757.html

If you prefer using a marketplace app, you can try Sum Up Reports for Jira app developed by our team. This app provides various table reports based on the fields you choose.

  • You can list the issue fields you want and sum up the values at the bottom.
  • You can group your data on any field (sprint, status, assignee, component, project etc.) and sum up the field values (story points, time estimate etc.) or take averages.
  • You can add this app as a gadget to your Jira dashboards.

Here is our live demo dashboard where you can see and modify any sample report and play with it.

For further details, you can have a look at Sum Up and Average Reports in Jira Dashboards article.

If you have further questions, feel free to schedule a demo with us.

Hi @Mar Angelo L_ Tareno,

As far as I know, Jira does not allow you to sum-up fields. You will need a plugin for this; so you could search on Atlassian Marketplace for apps that supports this.

If you take into consideration the option of using a plugin, our Great Gadgets app offers many gadgets that let you easily sum-up numeric fields.

Issue Filter Formula gadget - sums up a field for issues in a specified filter, and displays it as a number, colored number by value or as a gauge chart

Advanced Issue Filter Formula gadget - sums up the fields of issues in up-to 6 filters, and displays the results. It also lets you combine the sum and counts in custom math formulas for calculating percentages.

Pivot Table & Pivot Chart gadget - Can sum-up a field and displays multidimensional stats in form of table or chart.
