Unable to see users under organization when created and added via API

Mark T June 13, 2023

The issues described here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-77721 and https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-11376 are still occurring, but since they are closed as resolved I'm not sure anyone is monitoring comments there.

In short: An API created customer is listed with its organization in grey beside the name, when searching by user name. However, when viewing the organization, the user is not listed.

Hopefully, this is the right place to post that the issue is still present in certain use cases. Steps to reproduce:

  1. We use sd.create_organization() to create the customer org.
  2. We use sd.add_organization() to add the org to the service desk.
  3. We use sd.create_customer() to create the customer user object.
  4. We use sd.add_users_to_organization() to associate them to the organization.
  5. We use sd.add_customers() to associate the customer to the service desk and fire off an invitation to set a password.

When using sd.get_users_in_organizations() the user is listed correctly.

We have identified that if you go to the organization in the web portal, and type the email address of the API-created user, the user then shows up correctly underneath its organization.
