Upgrading JSM version from 4.13.3 to JSM version 5.4.2

We are currently using Jira service management version 4.13.3. As it has reached end of life, we are planning to upgrade it to JSM version 5.4.2. As JSM version 5.4 has long term support, we are planning to upgrade JIRA to this version. 
As we are new to upgrading JIRA, Please guide us if JSM version 5.4.2 is the best version for upgrade ?
