Hello everyone,
We have externally synced accounts under users that we are unable to update the 'Full Name' of.
Example below -
Testing1@domain123.com.au - CHANGE TO testing1(current 'Full Name' is listed as test1 within Jira Users)
Testing2@domain123.com.au - CHANGE TO testing2 (current 'Full Name' is listed as test2 within Jira Users)
Testing3@domain123.com.au - CHANGE TO testing3 (current 'Full Name' is listed as test3 within Jira Users)
I am unable to change these within JIRA which I assume is because they are externally synced. I have tried to remove one of the above and re add in JIRA but it comes back with the same name.
Is there anyways around this or a way to update these accounts?
Thanks for your help.
Hello @Joshua Stokes
What process/tools are you using to synch the Atlassian Cloud accounts with the external source?
Have you updated the full name in the external source for the accounts, and re-run the synchronization?
Hello @Trudy Claspill
Synced from Azure AD - Which I do not have access to update and check.
I will ask the team to check what they are set as.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
I have checked with the team; these accounts are named correctly...
Example -
Testing1@domain123.com.au is named Testing 1 in AD/Entra
But in JIRA the full name is Test1... Would have a user entered in their own 'full name' in JIRA when the account was created?
If so, how come when I delete and re add I cannot enter in the correct 'full name'
Thanks for your help!! :-)

Hello Joshua,
I'm afraid I don't know the exact steps to resolve your issue, and don't have an environment where I can recreate it.
If you have not already found a resolution I recommend that you reach out directly to Atlassian for assistance:
