I am interested in using the JSM virtual agent but my organization does not use Slack or Teams, we use Zendesk for customer support and Gchat for internal communication. In this scenario, does anyone know and say whether the Virtual agent can be useful?

At this time Virtual Agent is only available for Slack and Teams. So it would not be useful for your org as it will not connect to Gchat and or Zendesk.
If your org was to migrate to either chat platform I believe it could be very useful for you but that tool choice would need to happen first.

I was able to find this feature request for google chat to integrate with the Virtual Agent.
