What are the correct steps setting email request for O365 email?

We want to set up email requests (https://[domainname].atlassian.net/jira/servicedesk/projects/[projectname]/settings/email) to use custom email (O365). We used to create app password for O365 emails via https://account.activedirectory.windowsazure.com/Proofup.aspx. These app passwords are still working ok in our Jira Service Desk projects.

Microsoft updated their services some time ago and now app passwords have to be created via https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info. Due to this change, we are no longer  able to configure O365 emails to Jira Service Desk.

Has anyone succeeded in configuring these new app passwords, and if yes, how? If not, does anyone know if there is another way to configure email requests to use O365 email?
