Will Jira Service Desk Server upgrade automatically upgrade Jira Core and Software?

robynn balduf October 2, 2018

Hi.

I need to upgrade my current suite of server products on Linux (for the first time).  They are currently:

  • Jira Core 7.8.1 (Server)
  • Jira Software 7.8.1 (Server)
  • Jira Service Desk 3.11.1 (Server)

Do I have to upgrade them separately or will the Service Desk upgrade take care of the underlying Jira updates?  Similarly, will a Jira Software upgrade automatically bring Jira Core up to date?  Exactly how many install processes do I need to run?  I'm looking at this page:

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1213632/jira-service-desk/version-history

Thanks for your help everyone.

Hello,

You need to update, for example, Jira Software first from an installation, which contains both Jira Core and Jira Software. After it you can update Jira Service desk as an application.
