I have changed the email address to submit tickets tickets on an ITSM project in the past and it seemed to not allow any updates to the user of progress once changed. I am referring to changing the Project1@company.com to Project2@company.com. Will this break the linkage on the open tickets or there should be no issue?
It will not break anything. The only consideration here is that your customers now need to know not to use the old address.
