can I link jira software and jira service desk?

이창호 April 9, 2020

Is there a way to link the issues registered in the jira service desk to the jira software?

The issues of the projects we manage internally registered issues(jira software) and externally registered issues(jira service desk)

I want to manage both projects only from the jira software.

more details, when an issue is registered in the jira service desk, the same issue is generated (or linked) in the jira software.

If I modify issue(add comments, change status, change workflow, etc...) in Jira software, it will be reflected in the Jira service desk so that the person who registered the issue in the service desk can check all changes.

Is it possible to do this without a third-party program?

If not, which third-party program should I use?

thank you

Can you tell us if you are using one Cloud Jira (Both apps installed on one Jira) or two (One with Software, the other with Service Desk)?

Ok, I would not bother duplicating everything, but take advantage of the "linked issue" functions you can get because you've got eveything in one place.

This enables Service Desk to work on a request like a service desk, while feeding something into other projects so they can work as they usually do and keep the information flow across the two issues.

Thank you for your reply,
From the contents of that link, it seems like I have to link to you manually whenever an issue is registered, is that right?(I want to be a link automatically)
If there's anything I missed, let me know.

Thanks you

There is an option for agents to create issues in other projects that are automatically linked to the request.

It is not possible to automatically link in other cases.  Not because Jira can't do it, but because Jira cannot know whether it is the right thing to do, or what to create and/or link to.  It needs an agent to make those decisions.

I think the only link I gave you is to hang the link of service desk issue on Jira issue.

I feel like two issues are "same" issues.

When service desk issue is linked to jira issue, if you write a comment to jira, the comment is also written to the service desk, and when I modify the status of jira, I want to have the service desk also modify the status.

Even if it's not a link, we don't have to go into the service desk and we want to do things like fixing service desk issues, writing comments, etc. in Jira.

Of course, the person who registered the issue at the service desk should also be notified.

How to link service desk to jira issue
How the same issue is generated in the jira project when creating an issue in the service desk
How I can manage the issue created in the service desk from the jira project

I just want to manage service desk and jira's issues in one jira project.

Thanks you

The linked issue does all of that.  If you want to manage issues in a single project, then don't bother creating linked issues, but remember that you'll need to make all your developers into Service Desk Agents.

When I linked the issue, it was just a simple "link," but am I doing something wrong?
