i'm brand new to jira. but if i have an internal request for an upgrade can the request kick off a series of other tickets? when that request comes in, the person doing to the upgrade need access to a certain DB and needs to submit a ticket for access. Can that be automated? Would also like to see it scheduled on a team calendar as well. if you have done such please let me know. i appreciate it.
Thanks
John
Hi John.. Again, welcome to the community.
In addition to Cloud Keira, you can also look into JMWE (paid add-on to your env) (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/292/jira-misc-workflow-extensions-jmwe?tab=overview&hosting=cloud), where you can use the add-on to auto create other issues via WF post-functions. Or, you can build automation rule out of the box to achieve your ask.
Not quite sure on the calendar ask, and I agreed with what @Jack Brickey stated.
Hope this also helps.

Hi John, welcome to the community. Yes absolutely this is possible. Cloud Keira has automation capabilities built in that are quite powerful. For example let’s say you have a specific issue type that specifies this action that you need to take then your automation would look something like this…
trigger- issue created
condition - issue type = upgrade
action - create other issues or sub-tasks
Now as far as the calendar there’s different ways you can accomplish this it just depends on how detailed your requirements are. You could set specific due dates based off of the primary tasks due date. There is a dashboard calendar gadget where you can show issues by due date. Of course there are other ways to achieve this as well including add-ons to give you much more capability if so desired.
