is is possible upgrade from jira 9.4.14 to 9.12.0

We are trying to upgrade from Jira core version 9.4.14 to Jira core 9.12.0 on a Linux based operating system but it fails and Jira will not load after we try.
Is this jump up to 9.12.0 a to big a step?
If so what is the process that we need to take to get us there?

Are you on Data Center setup for your server env?  Please note that server env will be de-supported in Feb, 2024 by Atlassian.

So for upgrading to 9.12.x LTS, you need to ensure that you are conducting it from a Data Center env setup based on my understanding.
