smart value in script runner to send to email

Hi Community,

 I hope all are doing well.

How can I use the smart value of a custom field in an email body? I am using script runner in the post function to send email

${issue.customField_XXXXX} is not functioning it gives errors all the time

Planned Start Date is the custom field i want to use to fetch information

For custom fields, please use this format:

Custom field value: <% out << issue.getCustomFieldValue(com.atlassian.jira.component.ComponentAccessor.getCustomFieldManager().getCustomFieldObjectByName("MySelect")) %>
