I'll add another vote for adding this to Jira Product Management. We are using JSM so my intake would go to JPM for scoring/prioritization before being assigned to a specific product/project space.
Is it possible to embed the public form in a website? A sort of feedback form that can be embedded on any website so that the end user is able to open a ticket?
Earlier this week I found myself wondering if I could leverage Forms to add a kind of "contact me" feature to my public-facing Confluence portfolio. What stopped me was the lack of Captcha (I don't need bots creating a million tickets to spam me). This sounds like it would be just the thing I need!
Hi @Loretta BrunetteI've been waiting for this feature and this is great to see that it is now here, but the fact that attachments are not available is drastically reducing its interest, as it is a basic way for the submitter to illustrate a request, issue, etc.
Hi @Loretta Brunette This is a great feature we hope to make use of, one small request, is it possible to choose a background colour for the form submission page, my test form has defaulted to yellow which does not fit with our company branding and I do not see where I can change this, even if there were just a few different colours to choose from (Ideally a few shades of blue) for the background that would be great! Thanks

Hi @Forrest Lin - that's correct, any user without a license, such as someone outside your org, will be able to view the form without authenticating.
@Joe W - unfortunately this isn't available today. Each new form will have a default colour applied and this can't be changed at the moment. Your could create a few forms until you get the colour in line with your brand and then delete/deactivate the other forms. I know thats not ideal but it is a workaround.
@Adam Glover-Meade - forms are available on all software project instances. It sounds like a project admin may have disabled this in your software projects if you are not seeing this in the nav. This can be toggled on/off in project settings > features
Will it be possible to attach a form to specific issues, so that with submission Jira field values will be updated? We have a use case were the Jira issues already are created and need to send a public form via workflow transition.
When submitted, we have to transition workflow again an update some issue fields with values from the form fields.
Thank you for providing admins the ability to disable the ability to share forms publicly. Is there a way the enable it for a specific project that overrides the global permissions?
I agree with others comments before me, it would be awesome to have this feature available in Advanced Forms, since those have a greater feature set and functionality. Do we know when Advanced Forms will have ability to become public forms?
Public access for Forms is enabled at the Global Level, however, "Public Access" does not appear as an option quite yet for projects, just Limited and Open. How come? Is there an ETA of when the option will appear?
I see there is a purple banner that says "Currently Rolling Out" near the global setting but has been there for quite some time.

Hi everyone, will try to answer all questions in this one comment but please let me know if i have missed something
@Gabriel and @Madelyn Nguyen - we have rolled out public forms to all sites. But if you're instance is enrolled in bundled release tracks, then you may not see this until the next bundled release.
@Gary - its a great use case but there is no way to embed a form today like you can with Jira's issue collector
@Kythera - just to confirm, the form submission is supported by recaptcha. In the first instance its scored/invisible captcha and then falls back to manual if this fails.
@Marvin Brand hmm, we have no current plans to change a form so that it can be attached to an issue. I think what could be interesting here too is for form to be sent as a type of action in an automation.
Melissa Brown - this isn't possible today, but it is something i plan to explore, potentially as part of Atlassian Guard, similar to public links in confluence.
Kristján Geir Mathiesen - public forms will not be coming to advanced forms in business and software projects. JSM will be the product which continues to enable this (i know this is not the answer you would like to hear but i hope this provides clarity)
@Wendy Wesley - JSM has its own forms capability and unlicensed customers access model. There are no plans to extend the model and capabilities in Jira to JSM.
Will the external person submitting the form receive an email with the information that was submitted? I would assume some sort of confirmation should be sent, especially for those who do not have access to Jira.

Hi @Joanne Giammo - great question. This doesn't happen at the moment, a submitter will see a confirmation screen after they submit a form but we don't currently send a confirmation email.
Hi @Loretta Brunette, are there any plans to have information about the created issue sent to the email address that was submitted on a public form? Even just a notification containing the reference of the issue that was created would be very useful.
Just seen that this was asked an answered above, I didn't notice that there was a 2nd page of comments. Disregard.
@Joanne Giammo I have created an automation rule for the submitter to get in an email post submission - so they can refer back to what their response was to all the fields they submitted - works a treat. The email isn't very sophisticated as such, but does the trick!
Hi @Loretta Brunette and thanks for the good news! This was a highly demanded feature for us. Unfortunately, there is one thing that stops me from being able to finally replace all our Issue Collectors with nice public forms: the urge to enter your email as unlicensed user. We use some forms in cases where an email address is not necessary/applicable. Would you be able to forward this feature/change request?
Thanks for sharing this update. Really good feature!
Here’s a concrete use case I’ve encountered with one of my clients: When users request access to certain applications, they’re required to attach proof that they’ve completed the relevant training. This applies whether the tool is an Atlassian product like Jira or Confluence, or even an internal app. They take onboarding seriously!
Allowing attachments would make it possible to integrate a public form on the intranet and manage the entire onboarding workflow directly in Jira.
That’s just one example: there are many others. For instance, when users suggest improvements for an app, adding a screenshot often says much more than text alone.
I’d really love to see attachments added to the public form, thanks in advance for considering it, and have a great day!
