Can a custom field be restricted from a user group

I have a custom field named "Developer Notes" but I don't want this field visible to my Stakeholders user group. What's the best way to limit access to this field for certain user groups?

You would need an app to do it. I use Scriptrunner to show/hide fields, but you could use other apps to do it too, for example Power Scripts or Secure Fields depending on if you are on Server or Cloud.
