I'm wanting to add a custom text field that will show the ticket creator's location based off of the user's profile properties. My plan is to update each user's profile properties with a Key and a Value such as
KEY: LOCATION
VALUE: IDAHO
and have a workflow or transition that will recognize that key and update my custom field in the ticket. I'd even settle for adding that location\value to the subject line of the ticket...
I can't seem to find a way to do that inside of the cloud version of Jira; is this even possible? If it isn't, I noticed that I can set locations via "Suite Utilities for JIRA" (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.googlecode.jira-suite-utilities/cloud/overview), but I'm not sure how to configure that based off of user information...
I might have found a way to do this: https://innovalog.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JMWE/Post-functions#Post-functions-5-SetfieldvaluefromUserPropertyvalueFunction
Still need to work out the workflow...
