Hallo Atlassians,

i want your experience in an question that came to a migration process.

Quick info:

  • I migrate two Jiras, one v7.3 and the second one 7.13,
  • The newest one uses a crowd server/Internal Directory and an Active Directory.
  • The old one uses only the same Active Directory and it's Internal Directory

The Questions:

If i import the projects from the old to new , will the Users be copied to new instance too?

If yes will it create any issue to the database?

e.g overlapping other users with same Id or something else that i dont take in consider right now?

Best regards

CM

Hi Christos,

I'm not 100% sure I understand the scenario here. Are you merging the 2 Jira instances, as in moving data from the 7.3 instance to the one that runs on 7.13, or are you migrating both of these instances to something else, like Jira Cloud?

Hi @Claudiu Lionte ,

From server to server :)
